Isaiah Zagar's amazing recycled stuff mosaics
I just stumbled on a link to the webpage of Isaiah Zagar on www.eco-artware.com
He's the guy who made the awesome sculpture/mosaic wall on South Street in Philly! He made it out of all kinds of stuff, old wall mirrors from a local gym, factory cast-off ceramic tiles, what a great reuse project. So any way here's the link to his page!

You can see a tiny bit of one of his mosaics in one of my pics from the Philly Greenfest in a past post.

Lately I've been crazy busy, it's that time of year I guess! My boyfriend has been playing shows a lot, next weekend we're heading out to Philly for his gig at Incite HQ. This one is with the Mekatronics crew, which is an electronic music festival he helps organize. They had a show last night at the BPM in Williamsburg and I swear it just gets better everytime! It's all really creative underground kind of stuff, but at the same it's danceable, so sometimes people refer to it as IDM "intelligent dance music". They're on myspace: www.myspace.com/mekatronicsmusic
I've also been super busy because I'm getting pieces ready for sale online at www.earthfriendlygoods.com : ) So in a few weeks you'll be able purchase Garbage of Eden Design Jewelry there.

garbage of eden design at AuH2o!! : )
Totally psyched to have some of my jewelry items on sale at AuH2o in the East Village : D
This shop is so cute, it's run by Kate Goldwater (the name of the shop is her last name as it would be abbreviated in elements from the periodic table, Gold = Au, H2o = water)
Kate makes a lot of the clothes right there in the shop. All of the clothes are reconstructed from old clothes for a new funkier life. There's also some great vintage jewelry. Everything's priced very reasonably. Check it out! www.auh2odesigns.com
Also, new Garbage of Eden Design pendant necklaces and rings are on sale!

Ecofest at the Lincoln Center
Next Sunday Sept 30th is the Ecofest at the Lincoln Center! It's going on from 11-6. It'll be chock full of exhibits with all kinds of neato "green" stuff. I just finished making the belt in the pic to the right for the fashion show that will be going on during the fest. It's made from upcycled plastic bags that have been stitched together using nylon thread. For more info about the festival check out www.ecofest.org.

Greenfest Philly Sept 9th
Hello hello!
Thanks for stopping by. soon this blog will be chock full of instructions for eco craft projects so stay tuned!
This Sunday, Sept 9th I will be doing demos on natural dyeing at Greenfest Philly. My booth will be on South Street in Philadelphia between 10th and Delhi Street across from Whole Foods. I'll be dyeing organic cotton using turmeric and onion skins.
The pic to the left is of my "Eco Dress" which will be featured in the So Re Fa Fashion Show just a block away on South St. between 10th and Alder St. The dress is made of organic cotton with a bodice constructed from plastic bags.
